Rocky Top Joy was awesome!

The mountain views from this cabin is beautiful! The split bedroom plan was perfect for two couples or even a family. Easy to get to town. Could use some new mattresses and wifi needs to be available. If you stand on the top back deck you can make phone calls. Overall we were satisfied

the only thing was I wish I had look for a higher cabin in the mountains when I booked online. the view was good, but I stay with Cove Mountain about every year, and I go 2 times a year. I just look being high up. over all it really was great!

We were put in Rocky Top Joy due to flooding at our original booked cabin. Cove Mtn. did give us a little discount because they had to change our cabin so I cannot complain too much, however there were some issues that I will make future visitors aware of. There is not an air unit downstairs so if you have the heat on, all the heat stays upstairs. It was freezing downstairs so we closed off the vents upstairs so the heat would go downstairs. Problem solved. The breaker tripped on the hot tub a couple of times. The breaker box is outside not inside where you would normally expect it. I recommend (this is for anywhere you stay where visitors before you are in charge of washing the dishes) inspect your dishes before using. There were several dishes that were put away dirty. Two of the glasses still had lipstick on them. I washed all dishes/utensils before using. The windows could definitely use a cleaning in this cabin. Overall we had a great trip! No WiFi but that was ok. This cabin does have a great Mountain View!! We were blessed with a view of snow covered mountains one morning. Oh and I was surprised by the Christmas tree and stockings still being up and it is the middle of March lol the Christmas tree was in the way as there were six of us staying in this cabin : ) Overall I would recommend RTJ!

Overall very satisfied. Good value for money. Nice location. The property was clean and cozy. There were some little maintenance things that need some attention but nothing that ruined our stay. Company was also easy to work with. I loved the use of the app and smart locks.

The cabin and area is beautiful. It doesn't have WiFi, but we were on vacation, and this was the type of "off grid" trip we wanted... and we got it, haha! I absolutely recommend staying here!

Great cabin easy access,part that’s was not so great is place was picked based on view of valley from website pictures but unfortunately there was trees that have overgrown directly from the porch view, otherwise great and will return and try others cabins . Thank you

My husband and I normally stay in a smaller cabin when we visit the Smoky Mountain area but this time we traveled with our two small children and another couple and their baby so we switched things up. We really enjoyed this cabin, it was clean and spacious and had a bedroom and bathroom upstairs as well as one of each downstairs so each family had their own privacy as well. Most of the reviews stated there is no cell signal up there which proved true for all but 1 of us so we did have a way to communicate with the outside world at least in case of emergency. Only thing I would have changed is maybe having a few more options in terms of kitchen utensils/cooking items as cabins and houses we’ve stayed in during previous trips usually have the kitchen more stocked but other than that we really had nothing negative to say, highly recommend it!

We have stayed with cove mountain for years. We have usually been pleased with our experiences. The cabin location was fine, lots of traffic noise, but cabin was not at an acceptable cleanliness level for the cost of the cabin or the extra charges for cleaning fees. Windows are so dirty, you can’t see out. Cabin main was overall not super clean. Hair all over the bathroom, and very dusty overall. Cabins are always beautiful overall, but the pricing has become almost unaffordable for families. If it is going to be that much money, you would really expect things to be at a top level.

Our cabin was very nice. We enjoyed the hot tub, the view was as described, we enjoyed the pool table and jacuzzi very much. A few things need replaced such as the frying pan and spatula. Easy fixes. The pool stocks need new tips, but we made them work. Our weather was great so we hiked three times, and enjoyed a dinner theater for the first time. We love staying in Wears Valley. It’s always quiet and easy to get to. We will be back.

Wonderful cabin that met our needs perfectly, we would love to return. The view and amenities were excellent. Only note is that the hot tub needs to be cleaned.

Cute cabin, lots of space, but absolutely NO phone service. The view is exactly how it looks in the picture, gorgeous. We did have some unknown critter on the deck every night jiggling the door handles and scratching, but it is a cabin in the mountains. There are a few things in the house that could be updated (TVs, mattress in the main level, pillows) but nothing that made our stay uncomfortable. We wanted a relaxing week in the mountains and that is what we got! We would book this cabin again for sure.

This was a beautiful place. Great views and very comfortable, clean, and easily accessible.

The cabin was good but close to the main road. I hate we could hear the road noise when sitting on the porch so that was not peaceful. The view was good.

The cabin was clean and close to a lot of the attractions. We enjoyed our stay and will probably return. I only suggest that they install a safety bar for getting in and out of the jacuzzi tub.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable and had many amenities. Unfortunately, there was no wifi which caused some trouble, but we made the best of it. Future renters would be wise to bring extra trash bags. If you use the bags supplied in the cabin and need more, you will need to buy them at an astronomical price from Cove Mountain. You will also have to haul your trash up to their dumpsters unless you want to risk raccoons getting into your trash. The cabin is also pretty close to the road, which made the traffic going by a little loud sometimes, but it wasn't too big a deal. Another bit of advice, DO NOT order pizza from Geppetos! The people were rude and we never received our pizza. Save yourself the trouble and go into Townsend 10 minutes away and order from Pizza Hut. Also, eat at Elvira's! The most excellent food we'd had in a long time. Aside from the trash, pizza, and wifi issues, everything was fantastic, and my family had an incredible time. The people were nice and the location was excellent. Close to everywhere you'd want to go. I would recommend staying here if you're looking to get away from it all.

A great cabin with an awesome view. You could hear traffic but wasn't an issue for us. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Road was straight up and curvy but that is what you get in order to have a great view. We would definitely stay here again!

Very roomy with large game room down stairs. My only real issue was the rails for the steps coming into the house were broken and not sturdy and it is a long way down the hill if you were to loose balance. We also has some critters, I think Squirrels in the walls and ceiling, but we just laughed and wasn't bothered by it. I would for sure stay again at this location. WIFI isn's available and cell service was very unreliable.

Absolutely loved this rental. It is the first time with this company. The mountain views were amazing. There is a little road noise but we didn't find it too distracting. Clean and very well stocked kitchen with an assortment of cooking/baking pans. Nice and quiet at night and a great location between Pigeon Forge and Cades Cove. We saw a few wildlife off the deck during our short stay. A bear and a few raccoons. I would definitely rent again!!

There must have been a tiny leak from jet tub because I found a small leak in basement closet when checking out. Didn’t know it was there but might need looked into before the floor deteriorates. Great place. Had fun.

The location was great - easy access to many trail heads, Pigeon Forge, Gaitlinburg, etc. The property was clean and accurate regarding amenities - could use a little updating but was great for what we needed.

The cabin was great! We really enjoyed our stay. The couch is very worn and old, you could see wear the leather was peeling off. We also had an issue with bugs in the window seal of the upstairs bedroom.... we found this because a lady bug would randomly fly in the room and land on the tv. After looking for where the lady bugs were coming from you could see approximately 20 dead lady bugs on the window seal. But overall we really enjoyed the cabin, it was warm and cozy! The beds were very comfortable.

Great cabin! Very clean and nice layout, with one King BR and bathroom upstairs and one King BR and bathroom downstairs. View from upstairs deck was amazing! Only one other cabin next door, but still very private as row of trees separated the cabins. Check-in and check-out was so easy! The only negative was that the cabin was very close to the main road, so at busy times of the day you could hear all the traffic. Close to SMNP entrance, but far enough away from the PF and Gatlinburg crowds. Would stay in Townsend again in a heartbeat. All in all great cabin and great time!!!

We had a brief 2 night stay and wished it was longer! The cabin was much bigger than I expected. Plenty of space and the bathrooms are large. It is a steep drive to get to the property but once you see the views it is definitely worth it! Good location to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and National Park. Not in the middle of all the tourist stuff but just far enough to be away. About a 15 min drive into Pigeon Forge but we really enjoyed going through Wears Valley to get there. There are a lot of little shops and vendors to stop and visit. We are planning on coming back later this year.

This cabin is so beautiful! It was clean and is very roomy. It's in a great location, close to Cades Cove. There is a cabin next door, however when you're on one of the two decks it is private. Renting from Cove Mountain was a smooth experience.

This cabin was very clean and conveniently located. They booked for us at last minute when our other rental fell through. They were super nice and helpful at the office when we checked in.

Pictures don't do justice to the actual view of the mountains from this cabin. Trees have grown up around the house, but because it is on steep property, the views of the mountains remain excellent while providing privacy from any neighbors. The driveway is shared with another cabin which is past Rocky Top Joy. The ambiance and comfort of the cabin has been improved by additional furniture and accessories than what appear in the pictures.

Con:
* No safety rail/handle in the whirlpool tub area.

Observations:
* General maintenance, such as re-gluing joints, on some of the long term (hard used?) wooden furniture as they creaked.
* This cabin is off of Hwy 321 where it has several switch-back/sharp curves because of the climb from Townsend. When sitting on the decks, you can hear the engines, especially motorcycles, downshifting to make the curves/climb. For us, it was an added topic of fun conversation.

Pros:
* Downstairs bedroom/closet area has a door for privacy from the pool table/game room area.
* Downstairs walk-in closet has an area for hanging clothes on one side and is open/big enough for a Pack 'n Play (nursery) with room to spare on the other side.
* Each floor has a complete bathroom.

This was a very nice cabin to stay in with a great view. The road to the cabin is paved but a little steep. Once you get to the cabin, you share the side of the hill with another cabin. There is an element of privacy with the trees but, still close proximity to the other cabin. The view was beautiful, can't beat it. We would sit hours on the balcony in rocking chairs watching the clouds roll in. You are somewhat close to the road, but you can't see it... however, at times you can hear it when a loud motorcycle goes by. Inside the cabin was nice. 1 bedroom and 1 bath upstairs and another bedroom and bath down stairs. We cooked many of our meals at the cabin, which we were able to do because the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. Over all, the cabin was great, the company was very friendly, and we can't wait till we go back.
